early morning fishing at Collins Lake
OK, I assumption I’m getting much better at “mom-ming while camping” since instead of needing two weeks to recuperate from the trip, it only took two days, ha ha ha! Ya know, when I imagined the “Summer of Camping” in my mind, I believed we’d be going, like, weekly or every other week this summer, however now I’m believing perhaps when a month?
Don’t get me wrong — it’s fun! Lubię to. It’s just a great deal of work. The trip we just took to Collins Lake was a ton of fun. The drive is a long one if you’re coming from the Bay area (about two as well as a half hours), however when we got there, wow! Our campsite was ideal next to the lake, as well as the water was incredibly warm — like bath temperature warm! Whenever I wished to awesome off, all I had to do was hobble down a hill as well as over some rocks for a minute, as well as then I’d jump ideal in. It was glorious! as well as being the water infant that I am, I went swimming rather a few times, although you understand what I realized? Lake swimming is no joke, dude. When you don’t have salt water to keep you afloat, you gotta work that much harder.

Ain’t no celebration like a West coastline party
One thing I discovered on this trip is that the time you go to bed at night truly depends upon your neighbors as well as exactly how close you are to them. The camping tent sites at Collins Lake are better to every other than the sites at remove Lake (where we camped last month), as well as this time around around, instead of being surrounded by peaceful couples as well as families, it seemed like all of our neighbors were partying like it was a West coastline celebration circa 1994. everybody was quite rowdy, as well as we heard everything night long.
The music, at least, was good! somebody close-by was playing DJ as well as blasting ’90s hip-hop jams into the wee hours. I would’ve absolutely appreciated color Me Badd’s I Wanna Sex You Up, however instead of singing along as normally do, I kept thinking, “Oh, please, oh, please, don’t let Connor ask me what these lyrics are about.” KUPA ŚMIECHU!
BOMBA. KROPKA. COM.
A portable fan is your friend
Another thing I discovered on this trip? A portable fan is an absolute non-negotiable. I know, seems so silly. who needs to have a fan, of all things, while they’re camping? Well, obviously I do! El Hub gotten me this from a brand called Treva (it runs on D batteries, so you don’t have to plug it in), as well as it just made the trip so much a lot more pleasant. I would turn it on whenever I was in the camping tent to circulate the air as well as keep things cooler, which was particularly helpful in the middle of the day when the camping tent was truly hot, as well as at night when we were getting prepared for bed. often I’d bring it outside as well as set it in front of me on the camp table so I’d have a breeze to awesome me down (it was quite hot) while I made food. It seems so silly, however it was truly great to have around. I don’t believe I can go camping without it now.

When you take a post-sponge bath selfie to celebrate your family member cleanliness, LOL!
A quick bedtime refresher is the key!
One last “next level up” thing I stumbled upon on this trip is what I like to phone call “a quick refresher” before bed. Here’s what I do: I set a washcloth or some paper towels near my sleeping bag, together with a water bottle. Then, before I go to sleep, I wet the laundry fabric as well as swiftly wipe down my face, neck, the crooks of my arms, the backs of my knees as well as my feet — basically, any type of areas that have gotten sweaty considering that my last shower/sponge bath.
I don’t understand why, however I seem to sleep so much much better when I do this! I likewise did the exact same for Connor as well as she seemed to like it.
Anywho, we’re intending to go on one last camping trip in August, as well as if I figure out any type of a lot more ideas by then I’ll be sure to let you know!
